Dear Lootius,
“Thou shalt not lip-sync – for true Loot flows only from the Rock.”
Last night, the walls of Club NEVERDIE at the Howling Mine trembled. The club lit up, the audience screamed, and together we raised the roof with a Rock&Pop party. AlfaOmega shook us Lost in Bass, Tia Westmoreland celebrated 15 years of Atlas Haven Radio with her legendary set, praising the 20 year’s history of NEVERDIE, and Solis & Melanie Starmonger carried the night with their Redline fire. Flamethrowers blazed, a great snake and even a dragon made their way onto the dance floor, and some of us ended up dancing on the bar tables. Afterwards, we squeezed into TheNun’s apartment for a holy afterparty.
Yes, this was without a doubt one of the best parties ever!
The Importance of Gathering
Our Church of Lootius events and Atlas Haven Radio events keep growing. More people join, more DJs spin, and more activities spring to life. Each gathering is a reminder of why Entropia matters: community.
Entropia is not just a game but a second home for many of us. I’ve said it before: people return not only because Entropia is unique in its Real-Cash Economy, but because of the bonds we form. We all know, this universe requires deposits to thrive. But where else can you pay for entertainment, earn unique loot, and even withdraw value back into reality? Other games will happily take your money, but none will ever give back in the same way.
On Complaints & Community Growth
Still, I hear the complaints: “There are too few players.” “MA should be doing more.” On top of that, there are always the silly rumours and wild conspiracies about how things are put together. Only a few ever question the stupid nonsense you hear and read. And yet, some of the loudest voices are the ones who no longer deposit, no longer really play, and spend their time filling forums or other social platforms with negativity.
What they forget is that words shape worlds.
If we speak only of decline, we will create decline. If we spread joy, share stories, and build together, we invite others to stay, to play, and to grow the very community that fuels this universe.
The irony is, that it’s the same people shouting about low player counts that often scare newcomers away with their bitterness. Don’t you think new players are reading the forums? In an RCE, that’s not just bad faith but also bad business for their own investments. If you don’t like it, leave. Stop trying to pull people away with your own ‘truth’ or ‘better games’.
Personally, I find Entropia better today than ever, and I know for sure I’m not the only one. Unfortunately, those voices are often drowned out by a stream of negativity. Most of the players who are thriving and truly enjoying themselves are simply busy with their own adventures. They don’t feel the need to make noise on forums or Discord servers just to be heard. Who remembers the old days of endless lag, no-loot windows, and limitations everywhere? Funny, it seems that a lot have forgotten. We’ve come far, and those of us who actually play know it.
I know, I know. I’ve spoken about community and the constant complaints many times before. It gets tiring. But then again, so does reading the same whining repeated everywhere.
Speaking of lag, I got a new computer last week. My old one wasn’t that old, but the difference in gameplay is huge. It’s not just less lag, but also how much faster and smoother everything feels, especially when hunting. If you’re still on older hardware and you find the game too laggy, it really might be worth considering an upgrade.
Back to The Party
Our parties are not distractions. They are reminders. Moments of fun, music, and dancing where we remember why we’re here; because to many of us – old as young players – Entropia is more than pixels. It’s a playground, a home, and a story we’re all writing together.
Last night, we simply raised the roof. We howled in the Mine. We Built A Better Entropia having a lot of free fun using what the game provided.
On behalf of Atlas Haven Radio and the Church of Lootius, thank you to everyone who joined, who danced, who organised, who DJ’ed, who flew people up and down, who took pictures, streamed and who donated. Thank you for showing your passion for this game, and that joy builds worlds, and that legends – in music, in gaming, in community – never die.
They just revive, grab their weapons, and dance again …
