The Adopt a Newbie Foundation (ANF)
We are thrilled to reintroduce the Adopt a Newbie Foundation – a renewed concept designed to help new players find their footing and thrive in Entropia Universe.
The Adopt a Newbie Foundation connects new players with experienced societies for a 3-4 week mentorship. This program helps newcomers integrate into the community, learn the game, and build lasting connections, while societies gain fresh energy and potential new members. Donations are welcome to support events and resources for newbies.
The Concept
Starting a new game can be daunting, especially without any connections. That’s where we step in!
By signing up in our Newbie Profile Database, newcomers who haven’t yet joined a society can be matched with established societies eager to welcome them. This initiative gives new players a chance to quickly integrate into the community, experience the game fully, and discover the benefits of being part of a society.
Societies can choose to “adopt” a newbie for a 4 week period. This is a fantastic opportunity to inject fresh energy into your society and potentially discover your next great member.
Participating societies have the freedom to select newbies from the adoption list, that align with their group’s, values, goals, time zone, etc.
Newcomers can sign up to be on our database, and you’ll be notified when a suitable society is available.
Requirements for Signing Up as a Newcomer
- No scammers
- No teens (age requirement applies, as min age for playing Entropia is 18y)
- No beggars
- Must agree to take an
alignment test
- Must answer general questions about the type of society/help they are seeking
Requirements for Adopting a Newcomer
- Must answer general questions about why you want to adopt
- Must be skilled enough to become a mentor (but you don’t have to agree on a mentorship)
- Must have a genuine desire to help newcomers integrate into the community
- Most be active in game, to give the newcomer help and a good experience..
The Purpose
Our mission is to retain more players in the game. Too often, new players don’t return simply because they haven’t established any personal connections. It’s been proven time and time again that the social aspect of Entropia is what keeps players engaged, even more than the gameplay itself. Some new players might be shy, unsure of how to make friends or join a society, which can lead to them quitting the game altogether.
The Adopt a Newbie program aims to break down these barriers. With a clearly defined, no-obligation agreement, both the society leader and the newbie understand that the adoption period is temporary to the agreed amount of time. At the end of this period, it’s entirely up to the society whether to extend the invitation or part ways, with no hard feelings on either side.
What’s New
This renewed concept brings with it a fresh approach and expanded opportunities with special created newbie-events, such as newcomer-team hunting, tree harvesting, mining runs, etc. These are guided tours/trips, but will require the newcomers to bring their own equipment or at least be guided to get it.
Donations
We welcome donations to support the foundation’s efforts. Contributions will be used to create events specifically aimed at helping newcomers, cover the costs of providing essential tools (if we don’t get donations, the newbies wil
have to provide their own), and enhance the overall experience for new players.
The Program Includes
- We will facilitate the connection between the society and the newcomer, ensuring a smooth introduction and transition into the society.
- We will help newcomers to helpful websites, guides, forums to assist in the newbie’s journeyin the Universe
- Thanks to the generosity of dedicated Entropians who want to make a difference, we will hopefully be able to time create a fund for newbie kits, which will be provided to newbies that shows an effort and after their learning period
in the society.
